我们使用受赠的工商业中产生的弃置材料和生活中产生的“废品”做手作，物尽其用、减少污染、变废为宝，手作品用于直接捐助或变现募资扶助弱势儿童！

We use donated disused material from industry or commerce and “waste” from daily life to do DIY, maximize utilization of existing resources, minimize pollution to the environment, and turn “waste” into valuable DIY items that we donate to disadvantaged children directly or raise fund for them through charity sale.

During our volunteer fabric DIY event, beginner volunteers learn to DIY with fabric for free, experienced volunteers share experience with each other. Following are answers to some frequently asked questions about our events, pls take your time to read them first.  If you are interested in both DIY and contributing for a good cause,  you are welcome to join us to support disadvantaged children while having fun! Feel free to contact me if any other question (WeChat ID: clarayanhuang) before signing up.

问题1：志愿者手作活动的目的是什么？

回答1：我们的志愿者手作活动旨在聚集和培养热心公益的手作人，通过一起免费为项目制作质量适合义卖的手作品，募资捐助弱势儿童践行公益，活动不是免费的个人手作兴趣班，体验班。参加者以手作为公益做贡献为目的，如果没有践行公益的愿望或时间，这里不是适合的场合。

Q1: What’s the purpose of the volunteer DIY event?

A1: We aim to gather and train DIY lovers that are willing to make contribution for good cause through DIY for relatively long term. The event is NOT a free hobby class, therefore it is not event for those who don’t have willingness and time for non-profit cause. 

问题2：项目对志愿者有什么基本要求？

回答2：项目不对志愿者年龄设限，但是只有满足以下要求的志愿者才是项目欢迎的志愿者。

1）责任心和认真的态度：做公益也讲求效率，责任心和认真的态度是项目实现高效率管理的前提。

2）独立行为的愿望和能力：有能力自行了解项目以及活动介绍和要求。碰到不清楚的问题有能力通过适合的方式找到答案。能用自己的微信账号进行沟通，报名以及参加活动。

3)  组织性和纪律性：愿意也有能力遵守项目的各项管理规章制度。参与项目的各项活动时不需要特别管理也可以遵守活动秩序 （活动前会提醒参与者活动相应的纪律要求，不参加也是一个选项）

4）团队意识: 一个人走得快，一群人走得远。有愿望更有能力和其他志愿者友好相处，携手公益。

5）对手作初学志愿者的特别要求：不仅有时间学习，更有时间练习学习的内容不断提高熟练程度。最重要的是在学会后有时间和意愿用学习到的技能长期为项目做贡献。只有时间学习，没有时间练习提高，或没有时间长期做贡献的初学者不是项目期待的志愿者。

Q2: What are basic requirement for volunteers?

A2: The project does not set restriction on age for volunteers, but only those fulfiling following requirements are welcome to join the team.

1) Sense of responsibility & positive attitude: which are foundamental for achieving high efficiency that's one of the principles we are after in this project

2) Willingness and ability to act independently: Willing and able to understand project related introduction and requirements, and to find appropriate way to get answer to questions if any. Ability to use own WeChat account to sign up in events,  communicate and participate in events is another must

3) Sense of disciplinary: Willing and able to follow project management rules and regulations. Capable of conducting themwelves in a proper manner without 3rd party supervision during events of the project (reminder about rules of events will be sent out in advance, not willing to follow specific rules of the event  and choose not to attend the event is one available option to take）

4) Teamwork: One walks faster, one team walks further. Willingness & ability to get along well with other volunteers to work as a team to make more contribution to the project

5) Specific reuqirement for DIY Beginners:  For DIY beginner volunteer, it's important to not only have time to learn the skill, but also have time to practice to be skillful enough to make quality handcrafts. What's most important is having time and willingness to use the learned skill to make contribution to the project for long term. Those who only have time to learn, but no time to practice to improve or to make long term contribution for the project are not volunteers we expect

问题3：我想用毛线钩编的方式为项目作贡献，我适合报名参加钩编手作活动吗？

回答3：如果你已经可以熟练钩编，随时欢迎来参加活动直接给项目做贡献！如果你是初学者或只有些许基础，那么需要首先学习以下所有的内容和掌握这个技能才有可能开始做贡献。具体来讲你需要有参加至少6次活动学习基本针法的时间，活动后练习和完成课程规定作品的时间和耐心，在完成基础课程考核达到毕业标准可以开始参与制作活动海报上的作品后，经常为项目做手作品的时间。 

Q3: I would like to contribute through crochet, can I sign up for crochet event?

A3: If you are already very experienced in crochet, welcome to join us to make contribution anytime! If you are beginner or with limited experience, then you need to go through the learning and fully master the skill first before it is possible to make contribution. In more detail,  you will need to have time to attend at least 6 events to learn all the content,  time and patience for completing the handcrafts associated with the content after the event, and time to often make handcrafts for the project, which is possible only after you complete the learning and all your handcrafts meet the minimum requirement,  and you are qualified to start making handcrafts for the project. 

问题4：除了毛线钩编，项目还有其他的手作活动吗？

回答4：除了毛线钩编，目前我们还有毛线棒织，布艺和纸艺的手作活动。可以加我为微信好友（微信号： clarayanhuang)，要求邀请你进活动海报群关注所有手作活动的海报。

Q4: Besides crochet, are there other type of DIY event?

A4: Yes, currently we also organize kintting, fabric and paper craft DIY event. I can invite you to join DIY event poster group after you add me as friend in WeChat so as to follow all the DIY event posters.

问题5：除了手作，我还可以怎样为项目做贡献？

回答5：项目简介结尾提到了18种手作之外可以为项目作贡献的方式，我们的项目还在初创期，亟需各路人才的加盟, 欢迎加入，携手公益。如果报名参加手作活动，报名时请根据自己的兴趣爱好和特长选择其他做贡献的方式. 如果不报名参加手作活动，但愿意为项目做贡献，请扫以下的二维码填表告诉我们你选择做贡献的方式。

Q5: Other than DIY, what else can I do to contribute for the project?

A5: The project introduction mentioned 18 different ways other than DIY to contribute. The project is still at its initial phase and therefore in deep need of various talents. Welcome to join us to further bring this meaningful project to the next stage together. If you sign up for DIY event, pls choose the way to contribute while signing up. If you don't sign up for DIY event, but willing to contribute for the project in other ways, pls notify us by scanning the QR code below and filling up the form.  

问题6：我会钩编，手作活动的时候我做些什么？ 

回答6：我们的志愿者老师会带领大家用毛线做一些省时省料，容易制作，受市场欢迎，能义卖出相对好的价格的手作品，也欢迎大家推荐契合主题的手作品来丰富我们的产品种类。这次活动的主题是海报上的作品。

Q6: I can crochet, what will I be doing during the event?

A6: During the Volunteer DIY event, our instructor who is also volunteer will guide volunteers to use yarn to make items that don’t take much material, relatively easy to made, popular in market and good for charity sale later. You are also welcome to recommend items that meet such criteria to increase the variety of our products. For this specific event, we will make the item on the event poster.

问题7：我不会钩编，手作活动的时候我能做些什么？

回答7：你可以帮助做一些辅助工作，如绕毛线，登记手作品，整理物料等等。如果有兴趣，有时间，有耐心学习钩编，我们的志愿者老师会根据以上的课程内容从零开始免费教授基本针法。这样在掌握这门手艺之后能为项目制作有质量的手作品用于捐赠或义卖。每个人学习的方式和节奏都不一样，耐心和信心是掌握这门手艺的窍门。

Q7: I can’t crochet, what will I be doing during the event?

A7: You could help to to do some supporting tasks, i.e. make yarn ball from skein, register handrafts, sort out material etc.. If you are interested in learning crochet, and you have time and patience for the learning, our volunteer teachers will follow the curriculum above to teach you from scratch for free, so that you can contribute by making items for our charity sale after you complete the course. Different people have different learning patterns and rhythms, patience and perseverance are necessary before you master the skill. 

问题8：来参加活动的时候我需要带什么？

回答8：我们手作活动使用的材料都是工厂及公司捐赠的弃置材料以及个人捐赠的日常生活中产生的“废物”。毛线由我们项目提供，不需要带，但请携带个人的钩针。学习钩针的初学者参加第一次学习我们会有钩针借用。之后如果希望继续学习，请购买钩针方便长期使用。如果有闲置的毛线或工具希望捐赠给项目非常欢迎！

Q8: What do I need to bring with me to the event?

A8: Material used during the event are either disused material donated by factories and companies or “waste” generated in daily life and donated by individual. Yarn will be provided by the project, pls do bring your own crochet hooks if you have. We will provide crochet hook to beginners during the first training. After the initial training, beginners are encouraged to buy their own hook to practice and for long term use. You are welcome to donate disused yarn and tools if any!

问题9：做出来的手作品会用来做什么？

回答9：质量合格的手作品会在义卖活动的时候售卖募资捐助弱势儿童。我们目前通过儿童希望救助基金会http://www.childrenshope.org.cn捐助弱势儿童，在网站用"弃资手作公益"作为关键字可以查询过往捐助记录。质量尚需提高的手作品将不做存留，拆卸后毛线将被重新利用。志愿者以义卖价格购买自己或他人制作的手作品，是对项目的进一步支持！

Q9: What will happen to DIY work of volunteers?

Q9: DIY work of good quality will be put into charity sale to raise fund to support disadvantaged children. Currently we support children in need of help through Children’s hope foundation http://www.childrenshope.org.cn, you could key in "弃资手作公益” as key words in the website to search for past donation record. DIY work that need further improvement will be dissembled so that the material could be reused.You could choose to further support the project by purchasing work of your own or other volunteers.

问题10：我可以邀请我的家人/朋友参加吗？

回答10：欢迎邀请对手作和公益都感兴趣的朋友参加！请给朋友转发海报并邀请家人/朋友扫码，了解项目和活动要求之后，自己报名参加活动。

Q10: Can I invite my friend(s) to join?

A10: You are welcome to invite whoever interested in DIY and contributing for a good cause to join. Pls share the poster with them and invite them to enroll directly in the event by themselves after undersding the project and event requirement. 

问题11：参加活动纪律方法有什么要求？

回答11：遵守活动纪律是给项目做贡献的前提，项目希望所有志愿者配合纪律的要求，保证活动的质量和活动管理的效率。

1）先用自己的微信账号报名再参加活动；

2）报名后立即扫码入活动群；

3）入群后立即把群昵称改为报名时使用的昵称（报名成功后再次扫报名码可以查看报名使用的昵称）；

4）准时到场参加活动；

5）参加活动到场后立即在活动组织者处扫码签到；

6）不能按计划参加活动的话最晚于活动前1天亲自在活动群里通知活动组织者取消报名；

7）如果未能遵守任何以上要求，在活动当天扫以下的二维码登记违纪行为。

Q11: Are there any descipline requirements for attending DIY events?

A11: Follow discipline related requirements is basis of making contribution to the project. All volunteers are expected to follow these requirements, which is fundamental for event quality and managment efficiency.

1）Sign up in the system with personal WeChat account before joining the event;

2）Join the event WeChat group once signing up successfully;

3）Update the group nickname once joining the group to be the same as that used for signing up (which could be checked by scanning the event QR code again);

4）Get to the event venue in time to attend event;

5）Check in by scanning QR code with event organizerupon arrival to the event venue；

6）Personally inform the event organizer of cancellation in event WeChat group one day before the event in case not being able to attend event as planned

7）Scanning QR code below to file a record if failing to follow any of the requirements above。

我们尝试利用手作活动的机会做微型的闲置物交换。大家有闲置的衣物或物品不需要的话，建议在活动前在群里发个清晰的照片。有志愿者确认需要的话，请在活动的时候带来交给新主人。希望通过这样的交换可以把我们生活中闲置的资源利用起来，增加它们的使用价值，减少资源的浪费。

We will take the chance of the event to do mini swap of disused items from our daily life. If you have any clothes or items that you don’t need anymore, you could share a clear photo in the event group prior to the event and bring it to the event if anybody in the group confirms to be the new owner. Through such initiative, we hope that these disused resources could be fully utilized, their value could be realized and less resources would be wasted.
